Shadow studies

Shadow studies can help you maximise the potential of your site. They can be used to determine the effects of breaking height to boundaries and maximum height regulations. They are visual proof that increasing the volume of your building may have little to no impact on neighbours. We block model the surrounding site and separate your building into complying and non-complying blocks. The non-complying blocks are rendered a different colour and cast a coloured shadow. It is therefore easy to distinguish the extra shadowing of these non-complying areas. We then render a series of images showing shadows on the longest, shortest and solstice days at specific times. Images come with a key and can contain other information such as street and numbers so that planners can use them to generate reports.
